Singer / Songwriter / Actor 

Beijing-born and Vancouver-raised, ZiZi (D’arcy Zi Han) is a powerhouse bilingual singer-songwriter and genre-blending performer whose music bridges R&B, jazz, soul, pop, world, experimental and Chinese musical aesthetics. 

ZiZi’s artistic roots run deep, being born into a professional musical family with her mother playing the Chinese zheng, and her father a bass baritone singer. She made her national television debut in China at age 7, yet her breakout moment was not until 2017 on Sing! China (China’s version of The Voice) where her performance of Careless Whisper captivated over 400 million viewers. She quickly became a household name in Asia, topping China’s Weibo’s trending charts and amassing over 85 million views on iQIYI in a single day.

ZiZi honed her skills under jazz legend Dee Daniels and celebrity vocal coach Judith Rabinovitch. She has worked under the mentorship of Chinese superstar Liu Huan. She has collaborated with top producers including Chris Babida and Troy Samson, with her 2018 EP This is Me debuting at #4 on the BBC Soul Charts. Her work has been released on Chyna House, Taiwan, and ZaDiscs Canada/International, and is found on all streaming services. Her Chinese release Mom, I’m Home become a viral hit in China, and throughout the world.

ZiZi’s wide ranging career includes: show with her Canadian based Afro-Asian funk band at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and at the Guangzhou Strawberry Music Festival; a 2019 tour of China with RC World to Beijing, Shanghai, Jiaxing, and the Shanghai Arts Festival in Wuxi; concerts at the 25 Anniversary of the Rainforest World Music Festival in Borneo with RC World; being a guest artist at the 67th Miss World Competition in Guangzhou; acting as the Music Ambassador for prominent sports marathons at the Great Wall, in Xi’an, and in Inner Mongolia; appearing as the International Guest Artist at MGM Grand 2024 NYE Celebration, Las Vegas; and performing on two Disney cruises to Europe and the Caribbean.

ZiZi has made numerous other prominent TV appearances such as China’s CCTV 1 hit show Poetry and Music with internationally renowned artists Mei Han (her mother) on zheng, and Randy Raine-Reusch (her Canadian father) on zheng, and flutes to an audience of 500 million viewers; China’s second most popular show, and on Guandong’s Grand Display of Chinese Music, again with her parents and with a similar viewership. Other TV performances include the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, Silk Road International Film and Music Festival, the Phoenix TV Miss Chinese Cosmos Finals, and the Phoenix TV Global Chinese New Year Gala.

ZiZi is also a professional actor performing the lead in an immersive musical Searching for Another Me in China, as a bilingual voice actor on Zenko Go (Netflix/DreamWorks), on Nina’s World (NBC/Sprout), and commercial voice work for Toyota, Bloomberg, Vancouver International Airport, Cathay Bank, and Chivas Regal.

ZiZi regularly performs as a solo artist as well as with the piano voice dueling duet The No Sweet Carolines, with the soul funk stage band Ten Soldjiers, with her parents, and with RC World. ZiZi is an honorary member of the Canadian Songwriter Association. 

ZiZi has a Master of Arts degree in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University, 2025.
